Internal vs External Links

Internal vs External Links

A link can point to another website entirely, called an external link, or to another page on your own site, called an internal link.

For internal links, you usually do not need to type the full web address. A relative path, based on how your files are organized, is enough.

Search on Google

About Us

Contact

About

Explanation:

 • External links need the full address starting with https.
 • Internal links just need the file name or a path relative to the current file, which makes your site easier to move or rename later without breaking links.
