What is a Student Management System?

A Student Management System is software that helps schools and colleges store and manage student information digitally instead of using paper registers. It keeps details like names, classes, attendance, and marks organized in one place, making things easier to find and update.

Our project is a Python based Student Management System that lets a user add, view, search, update, and delete student records. All data is saved in a database called SQLite, so nothing is lost when the program closes.

The project also handles attendance and grades. A user can mark a student present or absent and later check their attendance percentage. Marks can be added subject-wise too, and the system automatically creates a report card with total, average, and grade. In short, it covers everything an educational institute needs to manage its students through a simple menu.
