Introduction to C Language
What is C Language?
C Language is a great language, very popular, and is almost 50 years old now. It was developed by Dennis Ritchie, who was working at Bell Labs back then. Before C language, there were no readable, human-friendly programming languages to talk with low-level computer hardware. Now the purpose was to build a language to communicate well with the hardware, but Dennis Ritchie wanted it to be programmer-friendly too (obviously, although I am just speculating), that's when C language was born, and it is popularly said to be a middle-level language.
Latest version of C language:
The first stable version of C language was C89, which was later replaced by C99 in 1999. The C11 or C1x, was released in 2011.
The most latest version of C language is C17 which was released in 2017, although the new C23 version or C2x will be released in 2023.
