What is a Job Portal Application?

Job Portal with an Applicant Tracking System is a platform that connects two very different needs on one screen: candidates who want a simple way to find and apply for jobs, and employers who want an organized way to track everyone who applies — exactly what this project builds.

On the Job Seeker side, a candidate browses through a list of open jobs shown as cards (title, company, location, salary, and job type), can search by title, expand a card to read the full job description, and apply directly through a popup form. Once submitted, the application appears instantly in their own "My Applications" tab, along with its current status.

On the Employer/Admin side, the recruiter logs into a dashboard that gives a quick summary of activity — total jobs posted and total applicants — and then 2 working sections: one to post, edit, or remove job listings, and another to review every applicant who has applied, with the ability to move each one through a simple status: Pending, Shortlisted, or Rejected.

In short, it's a two-sided system—one side lets candidates discover and apply for opportunities, and the other gives employers a clean, structured way to manage everyone who applied, without digging through emails or spreadsheets.

(To access and verify the Admin page, manually type /admin at the end of the URL — it's intentionally not linked from the Job Seeker side, since in a real product, applicants should never see or reach the admin panel directly.)
